I am proud to welcome you to Charles Darwin Primary where we support our children in achieving their best and provide an exceptional education that encourages children to thrive.
We offer an inspirational curriculum that makes our pupils want to learn and become lifelong learners.
Being the principal of Charles Darwin Primary and Nursery is a privilege and the school is a place where children are not just taught but where they can thrive. Having been a primary teacher for 16 years, teaching all age ranges, I truly believe that all children can achieve with the right teaching, guidance and nurturing. We encourage our pupils to develop that self-belief. Our vision is embodied in our core values:
We set high expectations for our pupils and know that children achieve their best when they are challenged, engaged and motivated. The school environment supports this vision with brand-new equipment and hands-on learning. We encourage children to discuss their learning and explain their ideas with confidence. A discussion-based classroom means learning is moving forward and children are making progress.
Our excellent pastoral approach provides pupils with an environment where they will be listened to, challenged, and engaged throughout their school day. Each child is part of a house system where they can feel part of a team. All children have the opportunity to be a leader within the school, from librarians to lunchtime monitors.
The early years of education are fundamental in a child’s life, and I am proud to lead an exceptional school where our pupils can acquire the foundation blocks for a successful future. I look forward to meeting you and working together with you to make your child’s future a successful and exciting one.
